This month we would like to highlight a very special group we work with.
We may all have ideas to want to make the world a better place, but the W.E.B. Du Bois Society’s RISE {Radically Inspired. Seriously Educated.} program is actually doing this every day. The W.E.B. Du Bois Society was formed because a few concerned parents and educators realized the need for a different approach to narrowing the wide and stubborn academic achievement gap that exists between African-American students and their white and Asian peers.
Rock, Paper, Scissors has work with the W.E.B. Society for the past 4 years developing collateral to build awareness, engage students and donors, and the best part is developing pieces that honor students who have been motivated and are excelling.

“What’s that funny looking box thing?”
“What am I supposed to do with this?”
“Did they make a mistake when they printed this?”
If you’ve ever seen an advertisement that was printed with a QR code, you’ve probably asked one of those questions. QR codes (QR stands for “quick response”) resemble an enlarged section of a barcode. These small squares may look like a printing mistake, but don’t be fooled. That funny looking square could contain a plethora of information about that product you were just looking at in the advertisement.
